I WANT LUA FOR KEEPS SAYS HARRY

HARRY REDKNAPP wants to keep Lomana Lua Lua if Pompey stay up.

The Blues boss believes the striker is good enough to sign permanently after watching him on loan.

That would mean a club-record £2m summer bid for the forward borrowed from Newcastle.

Redknapp thinks Lua Lua has a big part to play for Pompey – in their relegation fight and beyond.

The 23-year-old has scored four times while on loan and turned the game Pompey's way when coming off the bench at Blackburn .

Redknapp said: ‘I think Lua Lua could be very important to us. He's a real threat when he's in the mood.

‘He frightens defenders when he picks the ball up and runs with it. When he's on his game he's a handful for anybody.

‘He's got pace and bags of tricks. He runs at people and commits people. He's scored two league goals in three starts for us.

‘I like him – I've always liked him. He's strong and unpredictable.

‘I would like to keep him if we stay up, for sure.'

Redknapp feels Lua Lua and Yakubu Ayegbeni could form a devastating partnership in the future.

He said: ‘They've both got pace and skill and are a frightening pair.'
